The Alien Invasion of Bubble Island

It is another normal day on Bubble Island. An early morning storm that started raging at 4 in the morning made the inhabitants late for work because the sun just refused to shine on all the faces of Bubbles, Xs and Aliens on Bubble Island.

Because yes, Bubble Island is no longer populated dually by Bubble people and Xs alone. Increasingly, whether the inhabitants like it or not, Bubble Island is being populated by Aliens. While the Xs don’t really mind the Aliens as much because they think Aliens can help to enlarge The Bubble on Bubble Island and maybe also poke a bit more holes into the Bubbles, the Bubble People have not been taking too kindly to what they see as an “invasion” by the Aliens on Bubble Island.

“Why are all these Aliens coming to invade Our Island? First they take away our jobs and now they want to take away our homes as well. Sooner or later, we’ll no longer be Bubble Island if we do not stop this invasion,” said the ever-worried Bubble people.

“But they are not really taking away our jobs because first of all these are the jobs that no Bubble or even X wants to do anyway. And how can we need the Aliens but not want them near us? They help us to build our Bubble Island and so we should help them become part of Bubble Island, ain’t it?” countered an X.

“But helping us build Our Island is one thing. Wanting them to integrate with us is another issue altogether. If we let them stay near us who knows what they will do to us when we are not watching our backs?” said another anxious Bubble.

“Like poking your Bubble and bursting it? I thought that’s what we Xs are for?” said a tongue-in-cheek X.

“No! Worse than that! They’ll rob and rape us and drive down the value of our property! They should be separated from the rest of us and sent to live in one remote corner of the island where they are less likely to disrupt our Bubble lives!” said the anxious Bubble.

“Oho! So you’re just going to dump all these Aliens into another Bubble on Bubble Island and expect them to live in their own Bubble?” asked another X.

“Yeah, why not? This way they won’t ever need to invade our own little Bubbles and yet be able to exist peacefully on our Bubble Island.” reasoned a Bubble.

And so the Bubble People tried to reason with The Higher Beings on Bubble Island. But for once, The Higher Beings agreed with the Xs that it’s quite impossible to keep the Aliens in another Bubble on the island without suffering more serious consequences.

Because we all know what happens when two huge Bubbles collide with each other. They hardly merge calmly into another bigger Bubble. They just end up bursting into nothingness.

You cannot keep trying to carpet the world while expecting to benefit from globalization. You just got to wear your slippers and make sure that your Bubble can expand to include the foreign objects, and sharpen or blunt your X edges accordingly to suit the conditions outside Bubble Island.
