You know how I always complain that I cannot hold a decent conversation with most of my fellow peers without becoming bored or switching off to some other higher plane of existence? Well, every once in a while, there is a rare someone that genuinely cares about what you have to say and is even able to engage you in a meaningful conversation. Dosen't have to be one who is very close to you. In fact, I sometimes feel that the more you know me, the more I censor and shut myself off because I care about how my close friends judge me. So over the years I've found that someone who is a listener and yet not too familiar with me is the best person for me to hold a good conversation with. One that you know well enough not to feel uncomfortable to talk to as if you are making small talk just for the sake filling in the awkward silences and yet not too familiar that you have to end up being the listener instead to your best friends' latest boyfriend troubles (not that I hate it, but sometimes as a neutral observer of a relationship you can kind of predict the outcome even before it begins).
So the point being, I'm glad that there are such people in my lives whom I have underappreciate in the past but often surprised me just by showing they are actually interested and not just patronizing "the adventurous girl with idealistic dreams to see the world".
So here's to you, and you, and you. Thank you for being a listener to a fellow listener.
