It seems like my opinions on marriage in the previous post has sparked a mini debate amongst a few of my friends. So let me self-indulge and further explain my stance. It's not that I don't want to get married. I just don't see it as a possibility for me, especially in Singapore. How do I know if I don't try, you ask? Well, I just know. And part of it has got to do with my personality. And I think this guy explained it very well for me in his post:

Close friends who know me well will know why I know. If you don't know me well, I suppose you can catogorize me into being an INFJ, according to some personality test which apparently states that I have a rare and difficult personality. Which explains alot sometimes but dosen't at others. So here's an explanation of an INFJ if you care to read it:

Otherwise, forget about what I just wrote concerning marriage. I don't really care if you get me or not.
I'm just indulging myself.

Well my mom has been dropping very subtle hints (note the sarcasm) that place marriage and me in the same sentence. That, apart from your blog post, also got me thinking.
Why people get married:
1. They are simply in love.
2. Companionship (which can be a subset of love).
3. The continuation of the family lineage.
4. To fulfill a desire to be a parent.
5. To be rich.
6. Peer and parental pressure.
Why people don't get married:
1. Love might not be forever. Feelings change.
2. Too many responsibilities.
3. Not confident of starting a family. Why get married if you'll end up neglecting your kids, who might then grow up to be serial molesters or other societal hazards.
4. Exceedingly high expectations. Your dream guy or girl simply doesn't exist.
5. Exceedingly low qualities. If someone is ugly, poor, evil and stupid, who on earth would want to marry him?
Anyway my dad is calling me. Might continue this someother day. Take care.
