One of the best things about being here in the Missouri School of Journalism is that many big shots love to come to the university and give talks. We have had Nick Kelsh and Larry Price from Olympus and Bill Frakes(Sports Illustrated) came with the Apple crew a few weeks ago (where I got a free Aperture software CD which I cannot install because it only works on Macs...dang!). Today we had Joel Sartore from National Geographic coming to our class and critiqing our work for our final projects. I showed my workprints in class today, where I suddenly felt how small I am and how much more I have to go before I am truly confident of my work. But then again, one often has to stand on the shoulders of giants before one can achieve significant success. Having Sartore critiqing my lousy work was a surreal experience, which I think will serve as a valuable lesson for me as to how much more effort I have to put in to show the world what I can be capable of doing.
PS: For those who don't know enough about Nikon cameras, the D3 is like the Godfather of DSLRs at the moment. Well, at least for those in the Nikon camp like me...
