I should be doing homework now instead of this

This week was pretty boring, but it's my fault because I am in no mood to go out and do the chore of socialising with every other person I meet. So I went to the rec centre with my crazy Romanian roomie and this Serbian guy called Ivan and another American girl called Megan. Twice, on Monday and Wednesday no less. And I finally found a ping pong khaki to play with. This guy called Andy who literally hangs around the ping pong room waiting for ppl to come play with him. And he is pretty good, for an American at least, though I trashed him a few times before he finally got the hang of my game and beat me once.

And I went swimming after playing ping pong so Ben, Kimmy, Jourdan and the swimming ppl should be proud of me. This weekend they have the Missouri Grand Prix swimming meet, and Michael Phelps is coming! Though I don't think I will go and watch him swim since no one seems to want to go with me and I am too nua to go myself.

And during International Journ class yesterday we had a very heated debate about...gypsies. As to how heated it was, just ask Eveline.

Some of our classmates from our International Journ class at the forum of Harry Rosenfeld, the Washington Post Metropolitan editor during the Watergate scandal. From left, Kevin, Katie, Eveline, Harry Rosenfeld, Moi, sorry-but-I-dunno-his-name, and our professor Stuart Loory.

And today I was at helping out at the study abroad fair organised by the J-sch here and I met this American girl Rachel who went to NTU CS last year. She was the second person from Mizzou to ever go to Singapore so we had a nice chat about the Singaporean culture.
Look at the amount of propaganda that NTU made both Eveline and I bring to Mizzou. The Singapore booth had the most stuff on it. But it had one of the least amount of human traffic...
Me and Rachel. We were talking to eat other more than to the students because not many students came to look at the Singaporean booth.

And look what I found in the Korean market that Yuko brought me and Eveline to last Saturday. The Milo is Made in Singapore no less! Not the funny-tasting Australian ones. And the Shin bowl is exactly the one I always eat in Singapore! Comfort food! I am a happy person.

Speaking of food, Yuko the chef made Tteokbokki last weekend. It is a kind of Korean rice cake fried in spicy sauce with onions. And according to the South Koreans here, it is pretty close to the real one they have in South Korea.

And look what Rachel (not the one above but the one staying in Laws Hall beside me) gave me and my crazy Romanian roomie on Valentine's Day! She is such an awesome person. PS: I blurred my roomie's name so that she remains anonymous.

Well I guess that's about all I have for now. My roomie has been singing at the top of her voice this Romanian song called "De ce plang chiterale", which means "Why do guitars cry?", by the same band O-Zone who sang Dragostea din tei (the Numa numa song). It's nice to hear it, but it's not nice when you hear it so often that it's now stuck in your head. Have a listen if you are interested. Romanian sounds like a cross between German and Melayu I think, though no one else besides me think so.
