The bane of online chats

Why is it that the people you want to talk to online never comes online and the people you don't feel like talking to are always online 24-7?

Does it mean that there are such things as online fate?

I often get this feeling that I should not talk to one person too much online because I'd feel like I am irritating the hell out of that person.

Am I am online irritant? Because I can think of a bunch of people who are...

What compels you to want to talk to someone online, especially to people whom you see almost on a daily basis? I really want to know.
